Paradise Report Day 4: Helllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooo SUN!

Really there is no better feeling in paradise then waking up and looking out your window in the morning and see the beautiful blue skies of paradise, the blue blue water, and the sand.  Everything looks absolutely perfect.  It makes you feel glad to be alive.

The reason for everything being so a live and wonderful is because our god the sun has come out to see us.  It is no longer hiding behind rain and clouds.  It is out and shining and making paradise, well paradise.  Of course, it also calls to you.  The sun does.  You want to be out in it, playing in it.  Laying in it.  Being active in it and being lazy in it too.

All you want it is to sit back and enjoy it.  You try but work won't leave you alone. Every time you step on the elevator someone else calls you with someone else problem to fix.

Finally, after three phone calls you get to breakfast and you just sit there and watch the sun make everything look so warm and awesome.  Of course you eat your paleo breakfast, it is the only meal you have been 100% true on.  You will miss this ommie below with the pulled pig, it was a very tasty dish.

Finally, you boss calls, tell you to go get in the sun for a few hours and then we can review an agreement later that afternoon.  So you do what he says, you go out to the sun and you sit there  for three hours and read your Stephen King and just love the fact that you got at least one beautiful perfect day in paradise.  You also get burned to a crisp but that is par for the course for your first real sun of the year.

So far it has been a super relaxing and enjoyable trip to Paradise =)

Paradise Report Day 3: Sun and Sushi

It took till about 2 P.M. Hawaii time for the Rain and clouds to finally start to go away, but at long last they did just that, the total started going away.

Day 3 in paradise was a lot of phone calls back to the mainland.  It was a lot of looking at my laptop and contemplating if it was a mistake to come over early, because all I was doing was sitting in the room and working.  However, as soon as that Sun started to poke its little head out from behind the clouds, I know without a doubt, the decision I have made was the correct one.  Because it really doesn't get any more beautiful than the Islands when it is sunny.

The sun struggled to find its way out from behind the clouds.  The clouds were relentless, but our old friend the Sun just kept on coming!

As soon as I saw the sun, I couldn't help but start trying to take pictures of it.  As we all know being a creature of the sun, I need to get as much of it as I possibly can.

And of course,  I suited up and went to lay in it.  Because I has to work on my tan =)  No really, I was going to be pissed if I went home without getting any sun.

It is really lovely around the hotel, when it isn't all wet.

I thought about getting in the hammock, but we all know how that would end, with me face down in a pile of dirt, not thanks, I will pass.

After spending a little over an hour outside, I headed back to the room to clean up for dinner and my walk.

When the sun started breaking through I thought the clouds looked pretty cool.  My picture here doesn't really show it, of course I was snapping and walking b/c I turned my walk to and from dinner into a workout.  30 minutes on the way there (I did loops around the shopping center) and 15 on the way home.

But ya, the walk was very scenic.  Again, I am shit at taking photos, but I thought it was really nice.

Look at the blue sky, wow!  Makes you thankful to be alive!!!

I really like the cloud in front of that mountain, I thought that was really cool.  I don't really like the red truck, but oh well, it snuck in my picture.

I just can't express how beautiful I think that sky is even with the clouds and the sun back there trying to come back through.

This sushi place kicks ASS!  Really, I went here before with Deb, CP, and Coach Jana and it was awesome. I was very excited to come back.  However, the company was much better that time around.  Don't get me wrong I like myself, and all but those three are awesome!!!!

AHHHHHHA!  There is its!  Fully breaking through and it was warm as could be.  Hello Sun!  you beautiful Son of a Bitch! Welcome to Hawaii!!!

As I was walking I was like who is that long dude with the tiny head!  Then I realized it was my shadow.  =)  I just thunk it was cool

THE 69 ROLL - no idea why it is called the 69, but it tasted great.  Ya, um... The... well... uh.

The Dragonfly Roll  was pretty fucking bad ass too.  Very tasty.  At first I was like the waitress did me wrong with this, but when I really got into it, I was no, no she did not, this is fucking awesome and it was.

Anyone who knows me and has eaten fishies with me, knows that my favorite roll of them all is the golden California and this one did not disappoint.  And yes, I housed 3 rolls and they were awesome!  And no I didn't feel the least bit guilty about it!  The sushi was top notch as I remembered it.  I am thinking about going back again, but... I might not.  I am pretty full from lunch still.  I might just sit here and watch the sun go down and get a little room service and watch a movie.

Oh and if you were wondering, yes, as always with sushi I made a big mess.  But, I didn't get anything on my shirt! So that was huge!!!!  Good for me!

Better yet, Day 3, like Day 2 was a really good day and I was super happy to here!!!!

Paradise Report: Day 2 - The Ole Lomi Lomi....

What do you do when it rains in paradise?  Is it still paradise?  When your only plan is to rest and relax and do little to nothing else planned but sit next to the pool?

well, I'll tell you.  You get a massage and you relax however you can.  So, that is exactly what I did!

First I called the spa and after I got over the shock of the cost of an 80 minute massage you book your appointment.  Because your gonna get the massage no matter what the cost, that decision was made when the rains came.  Then you say fuck it and you take a little nap.  Nothing wrong with an hour long vacation nap, is there?  Some say "SI!" Some say "NO!"

You go to the spa 40 minutes early, because you want to give yourself plenty of time.  After all you didn't come to the spa without the intention of taking a steam.  Did you?  Well of course not.  So you check in and hit the locker room.  You have to yourself.  You choose locker 21 in honor of RBR racing.  You trade your flip flops for the spa ones but you do know why, you do that.  Then you strip and you march over to the steam room grabbing a towel I root and you have that to yourself too.  So you go in lay out your towel and take a steam!

15 minutes later and some deep relaxing breathes you figure you should shower up for your lomi lomi.  It's your 2nd shower is the day but you don't mind.  You choose the handicap for space.  It's huge and has a chair in it.  You take a nice long cool shower.  You turn and look at the door and you see hand prints.  Not in the steam but the type you see when someone done a piss pore job of washing the glass.  The type doc burkle wouldn't stand for when washing cars.  However it isn't memories of car washing that grabs the eye of your mind.  It's something else.  It's your crafty minds eye putting together something deeper and darker, but what you don't know yet.  Something... something?

You finish the shower and head to get your robe out of ole 21, but there isn't a robe, so you steal one from 15.  It was dealers choice when coming so which one I pick matters and take matters not.

I put the robe on and it fits.  This is strange because normally they don't. Something must be wrong.  Then the you down and realize your stomach and boys aren't covered at all and are out for the entire world to see.  Hmm...  So you get back into ole 22 and pull on your shorts... Why not.  You don't fit in the robe so you have to improvise.  You think nothing of it until your in the waiting room and your realize its co-Ed and just because your the only dude doesn't mean there aren't chicas.  So here comes the shame again.  You can't fit into a robe like normal people.  You feel conscious but you say fuck in here to relax.  So that is what you will do.  You think about the hand prints again and your steam.  It was a nice steam.

That is when Leilani comes to get your for the ole Lomi Lomi.  The message is good.  Not great, it's not dead and hard enough for it to be great.  You like a lot of pressure and the the LL just isn't that.  It's good nice and Leilani is a trip.  She talks to me aa out other worlds.  She talks to me about government hidden secret teleportation.  She tells me about how it's very possible the missing planes in Asia might have crossed over into another universe.  I love it because of love me a good govt. conspiracy.   I also love the multi-verse.  After all there are other worlds than these gunslinger, there are other worlds than these ;-). She spoke of the spirit being stuck in the human body and I was like that sounds about right!  I eat that shit up because I am on board with that.  I do think our souls get trapped in this time and place to learn something, something we need to know, something we must learn.  This made the massage all the more enjoyable and even if I didn't love the ole lomi lomi, I did love my massage.

After being rubbed head to toe with oil.  It was recommend by Leilani that I go have me a steam to clear my pores and I was thinking, yes because there is something about the steam.

So I go and hit the steam.  I sit there and I'm looking out the door and I'm thinking about the hand prints from the other door.  Then I start think what exactly did I see in that steam.  I know the answer was nothing but I thought the concept might be cool.  What if, I had seen something in the steam.  Like a sent of faint hand prints.... What if they wanted to tell me something.   What if?  As I showered again I Kept thinking what a cool concept it would be to have this man meet or see something in the steam and then see the hands, and perhaps the hands want to show you something and your think about describing the man head to toe in the steam with every pore oozes sweat and seeing something terrible but trying to convince himself there was nothing there when there actually was and this is house ideas and stories are born perhaps...

And that was pretty much my 2nd day in paradise.  Add in a burger and sweet tatter dies at an Italian restaurant for dinner.  A little shopping and watching the new Robocop and you have your day :-)

It's actually harder to eat paleo on the road than I thought because temptation is everywhere!  You can't avoid it.  It is literally, every where!  I ate cheesecake last night ok!  But it's ok.  I'll do better today, already have. Going for sushi tonight!  Very excited!

Paradise Report Day 1: Arrival, Hotel, and Walking the Grounds

Couldn't be happier with the view from the room.  It is pretty stunning.  I could wish for a bit more Sun though =)

The reason this picture is important?  Because not only did I fit into the Nissan Ultima, but, the seat belt went on without a hitch.  No extender needed!  That was a great feeling.  Because its been since May of 2013 since I drove a car without a seatbelt extender =)

The hotel room is really nice, I like it!

They didn't have the king bed though :(  That is ok, I like to rotate between these two.  One is for napping and one is for the night sleeping.  :D

Since it has been pretty overcast, I have been just chilling in the room most of the first day.  Don't get me wrong I ventured out for lunch.  Had some coffee.  Found the hot tub.  Made a spa reservation. Massage is at 3 PM.  An 80 minute job called the Hawaiin Lomi Lomi Massage they are mixing some hot stones in as well.

Oh shoot... forgot the picks from the ride over from the air port.

See the hotel is nice =)

But yes, it just a wee bit cloudy :(

After I went out for lunch, when I got back to the room to drop off some stuff.  I had a gift waiting for me.

That is pretty cool right!  That fruit is freaking awesome!!!

Special little note just for me!  Thank Deb for all your help!  You are a rockstar.

Woke up this a.m. and took a few picks from the balcony.

Then ventured down for breakfast.

Had me a Kaula Pig Ommie, with some more MEAT!  Paleo Breakfasts can be so kick ASS!

I know what you are thinking.  Mr. b that is a bit to much meet.  So, I went and got some fruit.

Then, I walked the grounds.

See this is where I am staying =)

However, trouble struck when I was out walking.  When I pulled my camera to take pictures, I must have lost my room key.  Oh nooooo.  I got back was locked out.

I turned around and heading back to the other side to go back to the front desk for help.

I am just chilling and relaxing today.  Like I said going to the spay later.  Then I will hit the pool.  I think I am going out for the sushi tonight.  That sounds pretty good right?  There is also an Italian joint across the street.  So maybe I will go there.  Where ever I go I will be walking =)  Maybe, I will go have a nap by the pool!

On a plane ... I can't complain, can I?

3.7.15 - three things to be ashamed of when your obese and traveling

The United dude at the gate was a jerk and he fought with me.  Am I handicapped no, no I  not, and I never claimed to be.  Do I need more time boarding than most, yes, yes, I do.  Look being fat is my fault.  However, if an airline recommends you get to seats, I think the least they can do is let the kid pre-board.  God, he argued with me and laughed at me, and said I couldn't and that being fat wasn't a reason I needed to board with my group!  He was such a jerk.  He walked off and the lady who was next two him took my ticket from me and wrote preboard on it.  And I said he said no and she said have him talk to me.  So preboarding became an episode and so once again the long walk of shame was started with me being the first on the plane.   I really don't preboard bc I don't want to stand in line, which I hate!  Or because I'm in a hurry to get on the plane bc I am not.  Rather it's more of a common courtesy to all the people sitting in between me and my seat that I will bump on the journey from point a to point b.  It's the awkward I'm sorry being said with each step I take towards my destination.  It's the same reason I only piss on the plane when I absolutely have too and now that I've mentioned moments before take off, I have to go. Wow, funny how that happens like clock work.  Stupid small bladder of mine!

However, once on the plane I can move faster from point A to B and yes I hit every seat with my wide load, but at least there is no one I'm bumping into.  I get to my seat and I turn around and get ready to get in and poof there is the flight attendant. She much like the 2nd agent at the gate is an angel.  She is like take which ever seats you want.  Bc you have two seats and you are in control, they will be happy with the extra room.  Then the shame starts setting in again.

Two seats!  Such a fat ass!  Again, it's my own fault.  I'm the one who ate to get here.  Your on company business so first class isn't an option without miles and being fat you don't travel unless you have to.  So no miles for me.  However you think about it, you realize much like pre boarding the extra seat is as much about the passenger next to you as it is about your size.  Airplane seats are fucking small and getting smaller all the time. You want to be comfortable on the long flight and also you want the person who sits next to you to be comfortable too.  Make no mistake fat and traveling is like going on a blind date and meeting at a random coffee house.  You don't mean to judge every women who walks in, you don't want to, but you do.  You turn them over and say well is that her, she is ok.  Or is that here because she is well barf.  So on and so on.  The masses that pass you don't mean to look.  They don't want to look.  However they do look.  They look and whether they want to or not the thought creeps into your mind, oh god please,  please don't make me sit next to the fatty.  Don't lie, you've had the thought.  I know you have.  Because the fatty sits there and does the same when he doest have first class or two seats.  He prays to God he gets a kid next to him.  Not because he likes kids, but because they are small and don't take up a lot of space.  And he has more room.  Ok, let's back up, the fat man always sits there and hopes he gets a hot single chick next to him, because he does love him some hot chicks!  Then it's a kid.  Then you hope for female petite.  The female normal.  Then male petite.  Then female big, then male big, then female fat and so on and so forth.  You hold your breath each time another fatty comes down the isle and you hope beyond hope
They aren't next to you!  You can't help it.  You are like all people selfish by nature and you want to be comfy.  Nothing wrong with that, it is what it is.  You look for these looks from others and you see them.  You catch the quick sharp glances from people as the come down the isle.  They can't help it, just like you can't.  However even know you are doing the same you start to feel ashamed.  Ashamed that you have let it come to this.  That it's come so far.  That you feel so out of place even in your little seats.

Finally, comes the eve awkward hand off.  Between you and the flight attendant.  The one where he or she tries to hide the fact they are giving you a seatbelt extender.  The walk up with there wrist bent over hiding this extra buckle and clip and try to sly hand it off to protect your privacy but everyone around you sees you struggle to unroll it and then sees you making your seatbelt bigger and then clipping on the extra length.  Again it's the third time you've been shamed since starting the flying process that morning.

However right now it's just you and the blonde flight attendant and she asks if you need an extender and your like Aiya I sure do and she gives it to you and as you are kicking yourself in you in you start talking to her and your not sure why, maybe it is the ever elusive approval this introvert is seeing always seeking with his every thought bent on it and needing it!

"I'm hoping this is the last flight to Hawaii that I need to seats and an extender!"  You know you've said this before but this time is different.  You don't know why it is, but your not the man you where before.  If you don't believe me ask Dorothy, the person who cooked her dinner last night wasn't the man she last saw.  She even asked have you been doing lots of therapy or something?  You shrug and you just say, look I'm being selfish now.  I am willing to go after what I want now and who I want to be.  She felt you where different and you know you are!  You continue "I'm taking care of myself for the first time in my life.  I'm 50 lbs lighter and 8 waist sizes down.  I'm finally taking control over my life!"  She ask how your cd done it? "Paleo" you say. "I gave up the big three really sugar, wheat, and diary.  You cook for yourself and only eat real foods now.  Process food is out."  She like everyone is impressed.  You also round to fifty because it does sound better than forty and you know you are circling it like a shark does a wounded dolphin.  It's only a matter of time before 50 is 50 as then 60, and so on and so forth.  Because you can't go back.  Not now, not ever!  You have your health to think of and not to mention how good you feel.  Dancing in the bathroom because u feel good enough to do it.  Walking when ever you can.  Swimming.  Living!  Really living again!  Something you denied yourself for far to long.

So you sit and tell this blonde women your tale.  Then she goes to help others and you sit and start typng and next thing you know your at 28,000 over the pacific and your on your way to paradise.

You still have to pee a little and you will soon as the guy in the aisle wakes up.  You don't really want to get especially since you've been crop dusting your seats. fuckers put tillamook on my ommie this am and your were gonna send it back but damn your body can't handle the cheese.  Oh well you will get by, you just pray it doesn't run thru you at 28,000 feet or we are gonna have to write a blog about a fat guy shitting on a plane and no one wants to read that but think about it as Farley in tommy boy and Austin powers and you get the picture!

However as you get ready to watch battle of the five armies you sigh bc there is no skymall magazine and your not sure why but it makes you sad bc reading that has always been part of traveling.  Oh well.... I'm sure once I hit the ground in Kona I'll put these three shaming instances behind me and forget all about skymall I mean after all it's paradise and the only thing to do in paradise is enjoy it!

Aloha!!

Back in the right direction! Down 1.4

It took 7 days but we are heading back in the right direction :-)  we are down 1.4 pounds and while we didn't loose all of last weeks gain we are most certainly heading back that way.  Myfitnesspal says I'm sitting at forty and you know what I will take that!  Yes, I will!  Tomorrow I leave for the Islands and I am ready.

---------------------------------

What happened to my day... I started this at like 9 a.m. and now it is 4:32 and a day has happened and it was not the best of my life.... I feel like I was a punching bag today and what was supposed to be an easy work from home day, has been nothing but one kick to the nuts after another.....  but you know what that doesn't matter now, I am going to get started packing... then I am going to make some paleo pizza and have some paleo crepes and then I am gonna go to bed.... and forget about my work for a little bit and then tomorrow get on a jet plane air plane and go to the big island, aka Paradise and I am going to enjoy it =)
