More Race Day Fun!

I was just to tired to write yesterday.  My skin had been burnt to a crisp from spending the day out doors in the pool with the family.  I don't normally burn, when I do, it is never anything that I can't handle, but last night, it hurt to move.  I wish I had a picture of my back to show how read it was.  I don't though. It hurts to even wear a tank top.  Now grant it I was in the pool from 11 a.m. yesterday to 5 p.m. and I didn't wear any sunscreen all day and so really one could argue I brought this all on myself, but I am going to blame my siblings anyway.  It must be there fault.

I have decided to extend my stay in Indiana for another week.  Dad is doing better.  He made it to the race.  He is becoming increasingly ornery.   Which is a good thing I guess b/c he is becoming more and more his old self.  I am trying to help out mom and dad as much as I can while I am here, but not sure that amounts to much.  i will do what I can.  For example tomorrow i am baby sitting Bobby's kids in the afternoon.  OMG that should be quite the sight.  Me and three kids. that could go up to 5 if Heidi needs me to watch her girls.  I would be over ran with kids!  I am not sure if I can handle that or not.

I am not sure that I have to much to report on.  Just thought while I had a few minutes to myself I would do some typing and get caught back up. What a crazy day yesterday though.  Warriors win in seven.  I had them dead to rights at 3 - 1 deficit.  Sharks play in first Stanley cup game.  I am not on the band wagon by the way, just saying that they did.  I hope they win, but can't get 100% on board since I have not been following them for the last few years.

The Brother Burkle!  Enjoying Carb Day at Indy!  Also got toe see some old friends Poog and Hammy Horns.  It was a good day.  We had lots of fun.  I can't believe how much I've missed the Indy Track.  You don't realize it till your there.  But the speed!  The cars! The smell! Mostly the sound.  I got goose flesh when the first four cars passed at once. I can't even write the sound.  Zoom zoom zoom zoom doesn't do it any just.  The screech, the hum of the engine the enuuunnnnnnn

Doc update!  He is getting honorary and honorary every day!  It's a good thing.  He walked down stairs today and sat poolside while we swam!  He went up and down all by himself.  It's so great to see!  Then tonight!  He went to bed in the hospital bed.  Fell asleep with the rail up. Then later we went and he made a jail break and got in his own bed and went to sleep!  So, good news!!! 👍👍👍👍

Visited Brother Bob at the dealership today.  He had some pretty cool cars on hand!

Dad had a pretty good day.  It was up and down but aren't all our days like that.  My pain point only got worse today.  There has to be some prioritzation in my life.  Tomorrow I am taking a person day and hanging out with my brothers, actually going to the track. We will see how it goes, I'm sure my pain won't let me enjoy it.  God forbid... Whatever I have to focus here.

Crazy day today.  An unexpected trip to Indianapolis today to get Dad's catheter for his liver fixed.  The day started out great.  Dad was bathing when i got up.  Then after I showered I took him to his office.   We had a really nice visit.  Soon as we got back on the road Mom Carol called and since his catheter had come out earlier in the morning we had to get him to Indy to get a new one put in.  He was a trooper.  When we left he was in good spirits and when we got home he was still in good spirits.  So that is good.

It was one of two trips to Indy today.  The 2nd was to pick up El Beaver Grande for the Race.

Also Anna and Allie got to town tonight and that was a real treat!  Allie with to Indy with us to get the Beav.

I am beat once again and i think it is time for me to turn in.

Pretty cool picture of a building in Indy.  Dad eating his big dinner.  and I am out of here....

Today was a good day.  After 8 days of not getting up and walking around, Dad couldn't sit still today. He kept trying to get up on his own while Mom was at the grocery store.  I was nervous at first, but then I helped get him up and then I was having trouble catching up with him.  He was a man on a mission. It was great to get to spend the whole day with him. I am beat though. I am seeing two screens right now.

I have so much shit on my mind right now about what is important and what isn't.  What is worth giving time to and what is not worth giving time to.  I am very frustrated with certain aspects of my life and weighing if they are really as important as I thought they were and if i need to deal with the bullshit anymore.  That is a world away right now, I will figure out what I am doing with the rest of my life at another time.  I just shouldn't be worried about that right now, I can't.  What will be will be.and nothing is set in stone.

Now for the lead in picture, that is just not me celebrating my mom returning from the grocery store and me enjoying all the spoils of her shopping efforts.  No, that isn't it at all.  That is me carrying in all the groceries that Mom bought today.  I did it without even being asked to do it.  I mean part of hte reason I came home was to help, so I had best do that right.  There is a story that goes along with that picture.  One that is quit funny or sad I guess depending on your point of view. I was a "lazy" child, however,  I would argue that I wasn't lazy, I just tried to think of ways of getting out of work, or to make work easier for myself.  So as a child I never wanted to help carry in the groceries.   I mean Carol was shopping for 5 or 6 people and that was a lot of groceries not to mention the plethora of diet cokes that this house hold consumed then.  It was a shit load.  So, each time we would come home from Sam's or the Kroger, I would announce that I had to poop and I would run into the house and hide in the bathroom until the work was done.  So, I think my mom and dad both fell out of there chairs today when I started hauling in groceries.  I also made damn sure Mom took a picture and sent it to the my brothers and sisters so they would know that I actually wasn't hiding in the bathroom when mom got home from the store!  Although, I did walk in and tell mom and dad after the third load I brought in that I would have to go poop and couldn't help and they both just looked at me...   I think they missed my humor or it wasn't funny either way...

Had a little swim tonight with Brody (in back giving me bunny ears), Brinlee and little Rocco:

It was good times and Doc watched us swim from the kitchen, so we played in the deep end.
